Those of you with subscriptions to Modern Quilts Illustrated Issues #4-6 will be receiving Issue #5 in a matter of days. All issues were shipped to subscribers and shops today before we leave on the Craftsy cruise until the end of the month. It was a close call but the chair voters won by a thread. The windowseat voters will find their preferred photo on the inside of the issue along with two other patterns as well as tips on improving your quilting among other things. We hope you love the issue. I’ll be intrigued to hear reactions to Lady Murasaki so please comment when you see it.

Amazingly the June 2013 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting began shipping to subscribers this week. It will be on newsstands on March 29. It has one of my favorite articles ever about how to use fabrics that vex quilters. It was kind of like Iron Chef for quilters and I had a great time developing palettes for the 40 lbs of fabric the APQ staff brought to stump me. Also in the issue is a new pattern, Corner Pocket, for beginning quilters (or those in a hurry) made from our Victorian Modern collection.

We’ll be teaching on the Craftsy cruise until the 30th with unreliable wifi we’re told. I look forward to reconnecting with you all in April. Our trusty co-workers Nancy and Vanessa will be in the studio filling orders and returning calls so be extra nice to them if you call!

  1. Love the Lady Marasaki quilt, if only my FMQ was good enough to make it! I received my APQ June 2013 issue yesterday. I have been looking forward to your artile ever since Bill mentioned it in his QuiltCon class. It is a fantastic article. I can’t wait to dig into my stash to see what I can come up with. Have fun on the Craftsy cruise. I’m jealous!
