So exciting! It’s called Designing Modern Quilts. As I explained before, it’s a design class, not a project class. It’s 10 parts with explorations to help you understand and process the concepts. I hope you love it and will share your thoughts with me about it. And for those of you who know me and know that I didn’t even wear makeup at my wedding, you’ll get a kick out of seeing me in “the Full Kardasian” courtesy of the Craftsy’s makeup artist. When in Rome, right? I hope that if you do take the class that you’ll become part of the Craftsy community, making the most of the platform to share your explorations, ask me questions and comment on what others share. Everyone has something to teach others so I hope you’ll throw in your two cents.
Weeks,
I have taken many courses on the craftsy platform and it is excellent. Noteably, Jane Dunnewold’s class on dying told our community of quilters, that Craftsy is a serious platform attracting top talent. And now YOU!!! Can’t wait to see what you have poured your heart and talent into! Judy
I do believe this is the class I’ve been looking for! Is it okay I take it at a later date, as in January? I hope so, but I don’t think I can wait until then. Thank you and take care, Byrd
You can take it anytime. You can also take it in parts. It’s in 30-45 minute lessons so you can watch it anytime. And rewatch parts that you want to review later. It’s yours and you can schedule it in any way.
Weeks, I’ve just started your class and am really hooked. I too am in love with Japanese indigo fabrics, but have always been at a loss as to how to put them together. Your indigo 1987 strip quilt idea is terrific and an inspiration to me and I’m going to try some purple with my usual indigos and reds. Craftsy is a really great platform for me, and it’s great that I can download it here in Australia and watch in my own time. Thanks heaps!
Thanks Imogen. I’m delighted that you’re enjoying the class.
I have been waiting for your class to show up on Craftsy. I signed up today and listened to the Introduction. I loved it!! Can hardly wait to listen to the rest of your presentations. Looking forward to learning and unlocking that “space in my head”. Thanks so much!! Connie in California
I’m one of your online students and am enjoying your class very much. I’m in the process of doing the explorations and looking forward to the next class in your course. I have also purchased all of your books and so enjoy the slimplicity and elegance of your patterns.
I just finished this class and you are an amazing teacher. Your enthusiasm, talent and heart come through to be a truly inspiring individual.
I have long been a silent fan of both you and your husband’s work. Mobility issues mean that traveling to have a class from you is not possible, so having the ability to do so through this platform has been wonderful.
Thank you!
I am currently taking this course at Craftsy and am thoroughly enjoying it.
I just started your class last night. I am already quite excited about it. Linking to Craftsy and to your blog on mine. Thanks for getting me excited about design. :-)
When I saw Craftsy was offering a course taught by you, I jumped on it. I’m so glad I did.
Each night, I’d go through another class and think about what you were teaching.I’d look at your quilts in my mind’s eye and try to get the feel of what was happening alongside the techniques.
I love the idea of starting with an idea and when I sat quietly and let ideas flow, one jumped out fully formed for me to sketch and make notes. I never had that happen before.
Because of your class, doors are opening in my mind.Because of your class, I sat down down over this weekend and read every blog entry you’ve done on Craft Nectar. Because of your class,I feel ignited and hungry to move in the direction of myself. You did an incredible job on the class and I thank you!
Such a gift it is to read a comment like this. I was so worried that because there wasn’t a project that you could see attached to the class that people wouldn’t take it. It’s not a class that can be summed up in a few words. But you were clearly ready. And you took your time with it, making the space in your head and in your day to let those ideas flow.
My only request is that, if you have a moment, you write a review of the class on the Craftsy platform so others will know what to expect. It’s a very different type of class and explaining to others what you got out of it will help others decided if it’s what they are looking for. It’s not for everyone because it’s hard work. But for people like you, who are motivated and ready, it’s not a class you’ll find elsewhere. Also, I hope you’ll post your progress on the platform. Many thanks again for your kind words.
I (happily) placed a comment last night and am very grateful for all the time you took putting the class together. It was of tremendous value both financially and creatively. And I’ve friended on FB, as well. Please know the efforts of both you and Bill are noticed and deeply appreciated…and the newly renovated house isn’t bad either!…a moment’s pause for studio envy.
